For Slovenian mobile operator company we built their second island in virtual world Second Life. Their new island, named Slovenia Welcome, is placed next to their first one (Slovenia), which was introduced and opened to public exactly a year ago.
As last year, the solemn opening took place at the charity event »Žur z razlogom« on 30th of August, taking place in Tivoli park in Ljubljana.
Slovenia Welcome island's main task is to welcome all brand new Slovenian users of Second Life as it offers simple guidelines and tips about all the necessary knowledge a newcomer needs to learn for easier start of his virtual life. All the knowledge they can then test on fun and interactive theme tasks and missions. All instructions as well as all the game instructions are written in Slovenian language.
At the same time Slovenia Welcome island offers some fun time for more experienced users as well. On the island residents can find nice places to hang around with each other, they can send free SMS' from virtual world to reality, compete among each other in a fun game with buoys and learn or improve their building skills in a sandbox.
Since the new Slovenia Welcome island is opened, new Slovenian users can also officially register to Second Life in Slovenian language – through Ortoego.com, a website for all Slovenian users of Second Life. Slovenia is now one of only few countries which allows it's users to register to Second Life in their mother tongue, together with it's own welcome island, with tips and instructions in Slovenian language.
